Birthdays

Today my mom would have been 58 years old. This is the second birthday I haven't celebrated with her. I miss her so much, and I think of her all the time. I know how she would have wanted me to spend her day though, and I don't think it would be in the cemetery. She would have wanted me to spend it enjoying my family. So, with many many thoughts of you, mom, and many more wishes that I could be celebrating your 58th birthday, I spent my day with John and Isabella. Today we celebrated our niece's birthday (which was July 24th) with a pool party, family, and cake. We all had a great time, even Isabella. She hasn't been the biggest fan of the "big" pool this summer, but today she LOVED it. She splashed and played and really enjoyed her cousins.

Isabella and Mimi

Isabella loves spending time with her great grand mother. She runs to Mimi or reaches out for her whenever she sees or hears her. Of course, Mimi loves Isabella and gives her anything she wants. And Isabella loves playing in Mimi's house, because nothing is off limits.

Isabella gets to play with the mail.

Isabella loves to get the things off Mimi's coffee table.

Mimi's house is so much fun!

Summer fun

Isabella loves playing in her pool. She loves taking things out of whatever they're in and then putting them back again. Today the project was to throw all the toys (and water) out of the pool and see if mommy would put them back in. We had lots of fun!

Happy 4th of July!

We went to Lay Lake this weekend to spend some time with my aunt and uncle and some of Isabella's favorite cousins! We had a great day on the water. John and I even did a little tubing. Isabella enjoyed the new experience but I'm not sure she loved wearing a life vest. I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence day!

I love this shot of Isabella looking at the water.

Here's the reason I went tubing... nice, huh?
