8 weeks

Yesterday was Isabella's 8 week check up. She's officially 11 lbs. and 22 1/2 inches long. I can't believe she's so big already. The doctor said she's in the 50th percentile for her age, so she's right in the middle. Perfect... She had 4 vaccines and an oral medication, and she was not happy. In fact she was very unhappy. This is the kind of face I saw a lot of yesterday. I'm happy to report that this morning she seems to be feeling a little better. It is a cute face even if it isn't happy.

A tribute

I have great parents. And I'd like to begin by saying that I've always appreciated my parents and all they've done for me. They have given me so many great things, and have made sacrifices so that I could have those things. But best of all they have given me their time and love, and I can say that since becoming a parent myself, I appreciate them so much more. I can't express how blessed I feel to have been raised in such a loving, Christian home. I've been reflecting on that a good bit since becoming a parent, and I just wanted to say thank you. I hope I can be as good to Isabella as you have been to me.

What a great dad.

A week for firsts...

Isabella went to church for the first time this past Sunday. Although she didn't attend the service (because she was crying), she did get to view them from the "Cry room" down the hall. She got to wear a beautiful gown made by her Aunt Ginger. I'll have to add a close up of the gown later.

My aunt Kathy and cousin Rylee came over to play with Isabella this week and we all had a great time. Rylee is great with Isabella. She read her stories and showed her all her toys and kept her warm, and as you can see in the picture, she held her.

And the biggest event of all happened yesterday when Isabella rolled over for the first time. She was playing on her tummy and then she just pushed herself over onto her back. I think it startled her, because she started crying after that. John and I were so proud of her though!

These next few pictures are some that I liked of Isabella wearing an outfit that I wore when I was little.

Precious moments

Here are some of my favorite of the latest Isabella pictures...Isabella loves to stretch and it's just the cutest thing. It always makes me smile.

New friends

Isabella made some new friends Friday. We visited with my friend Sally and her little girl, Hannah Cate, on Friday. Hannah Cate is 3 weeks older than Isabella, and just absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed meeting her and can't wait until their old enough to play together! We also got to see Ginny and her daughter, Caroline, who is a year older than Isabella, as well as Laura and her daugher, Claire. Isabella can't wait to be big enough to play with Caroline and Claire, but we'll give it a few more months!
